Ruinart: long tradition
Dom Thierry Ruinart was a Benedictine monk when he laid the foundation stone for his own wine house. His brother and his son developed this idea, so that in 1729, long before the term “champagne” was even invented, the first account book for the sale of his own wine creation was finally created.
The traditional house has grown over generations and still today convinces with extraordinary quality. The grapes grow for a particularly good development on lime-rich soil. The subsequent ripening takes place in chalk cellars, where the diverse aromas are created.
Optics
The Ruinart Blanc de Blancs shimmers in a noble pale gold with green nuances. The design of the Magnum bottle is also particularly striking: it is based on the first champagne bottles of the 18th century.
Smell
The noble champagne on Chardonnay basis smells flowery and fruity like citrus fruits, in addition there is a very special freshness.
Taste
Nuances of citrus fruits such as lemon, grapefruit and lime combine with those of stone fruits such as peach and white flowers. It has a gentle acidity and is most convincing when enjoyed fresh.
Advantages of a Magnum bottle
High-quality wines can be stored excellently in larger bottles, which therefore also have a thicker glass wall. Due to the thicker glass layer, temperature and light can no longer affect the quality so quickly. In addition, Magnum bottles contain less air, which can lead to oxidation. In smaller bottles, the connection between wine and oxygen causes the problem of premature maturation much more often.
